Our December faculty spotlight is on Julie Lueckenhoff. Lueckenhoff has been a fixture in the Blair Oaks community for the last 29 years.
In the fall of 1985, Lueckenhoff came to the district as a student teacher. Following her graduation from Lincoln that December, she was hired by the district to complete the school year after her former cooperating teacher, Mary Beth Oschner, resigned from her position. The following fall, Mrs. Lueckenhoff was hired as the Health and Physical Education teacher and she has been teaching here ever since.
Lueckenhoff graduated from Helias High School in 1981. After high school, she attended Lincoln University where she played volleyball and softball and studied Health and Physical Education. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Education in 1985. Lueckenhoff later earned her Master of Health Education and Exercise Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia (1995).
Over the years, Lueckenhoff has been an active member in many professional organizations: Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (MOAPHERD), AAHPERD, American Association for Health Education (AAHE), National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association (MHSVCB), and Central District AHPERD. In addition to her membership, she held many offices, belonged to many committees, and was voted as the Missouri and Central District High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 1999 and the Missouri Health Educator of the Year in 2007. She was awarded the Kathleen Kinderfather Award in 2012 which is the highest award given in the MOAHPERD Association. While at Blair Oaks, Lueckenhoff has been a sponsor for the Turning Resources and Energy in New Directions (TREND) Group. She has also been a member of the Career Ladder Committee, Liaison Committee, Student Support Team, Faculty Advisory Council and various other groups/organizations.
Mrs. Lueckenhoff has been married to Tim Lueckenhoff for 28 years and together they have three children: Tyler (2007 BHS graduate), Danielle (2013 BHS graduate), and Tanner, who is currently a junior at the high school.
